1) Exercise. yeah, I know its nothing you heard before but when you look back on why you only lost so much weight it is probably caused by the lack of exercise. Seeking long term weight loss and maintaining all your achievements takes continued dedication but in the long run it is all worth it.

To make it alittle easier try to keep your life active with walking, doing active activities, and staying busy.

2) Resistance training. This does not mean you will get bulky but with lifting weights it will speed up your weight loss and help you tone and lean up your body.
The basic reason is that the more lean muscle tissue you have, the more calories you will burn each day. This is why world class weight lifters must eat thousands of calories a day to maintain their weight.

Muscle is active tissue, fat is not. Thus, muscle "burns" a significant number of calories each day for its own maintenance. But don't be worried about gaining a lot of muscle as most weight lifters take supplements, have intense workouts, and do no cardio.

Lift weights to burn fat for weight loss and a lean and toned body.

3) Keep a dairy.
Keeping a food and exercise diary can be a huge asset in your success towards weight loss. Devote time each day to record what you have eaten and how much, your hunger level prior to eating, and any feelings or emotions present at the time. A food diary can provide a large amount of self-awareness. It can identify emotions and behaviors that trigger overeating, foster greater awareness of portion sizes, and help you discover your personal food triggers.

Once you have done this for about a month or two you will be able to stop recording what you eat as you will know the amount that is healthy for you to eat for meaintaining or losing weight. It is not that time consuming or difficult so give it a shot.

4) Keep focus on being healthy. When you focus on only the weight, look, and being like the people on tv or magazines that is when you take health and fitness to a level that is not healthy for you.

Stay away from diets that take away part of the food groups as they all offer you vital health benefits that will help keep your body strong and healthy while giving you the edge to lose weight and develop a lean and tone body.

5) Know your weaknesses. One of the hardess things is knowing what foods trigger you to lose control and make you forget or put aside your health and fitness goals.

All too often overeating is triggered by stress, boredom, loneliness, anger, depression and other emotions. Learning to deal with emotions without food is a significant skill that will greatly serve long term weight control.

6) Find support. Having someone cheering you on makes eating healthy and sticking to an exercise program that much easier than doing it all by yourself. Look for people around you that have the same goals as you and will parter up with you in your desire for healthy living and eating a nutritist diet.

7) Lose weight gradually. It happens to so many people that they get so motivated that they take their exercise and nutrition to an over excessive level and burn out. If you are new or have not had that much success in losing weight than take it slow and easy and incorporate small changes into your life that will benefit you over time.

8) Eat slowly. Finding time to sit down and eat can become tricky sometimes but when people don't pay attention and eat slowly, they often eat more than they needed and that is why America is overweight.

If taking time to eat slowly is difficult for you than make sure you eat something that you know is the right portion and that is healthy for you.

9) Portion sizes. This is one I even struggle with but it can make you or break you when losing weight is on the line. The biggest word that is affecting how much people eat is "super-size" that may I add has caused families to eat a forth more food than they use to before restraunats came out with large portions of food.

By eating small frequent meals we are allowing our bodies to digest the food and raise our metabolism while keeping our insulin level stable. Burn the fat and keep your metabolism burning calories all day long.

10) Cut down on fat. Eating high fattening foods are becoming a problem as fats are high density foods that pack on the calories in no time. So try to limit the amount of fats you in take as well as the types of fats you eat.
