Granola in the morning with some yogurt on top can be one of the most delious breaskfasts you could ever make. It also sounds like a good fat burning meal if your goal if weight loss or improving your healthy eating habits.

What is Fiber?

Salons and spas on board most of the luxury cruise ships offer passengers full service treatments ranging from aroma and aqua-spas, body wraps and mud baths, to facials, massages and hair do’s and fitness activity for weight loss.

Even the smaller and older cruise ships are now paying more attention to fitness on board, resulting in an ever growing need for beauty and skin care professionals. Onboard salons and spas are either run in-house or by a concessionaire company who are responsible for the following beauty salon job positions: hair stylist / hairdresser, beauty therapist / beautician, cosmetologist, nail technician, physiotherapist, massage therapist, and aerobic & fitness instructor.

The salons are equipped with the latest in beauty technology and it is the responsibility of the staff to put it to good use promoting treatments and pampering passengers. Hours can sometimes be long, especially on formal nights , which usually fall on a sea day.

* Beautician - must have one of the following qualifications: CIDESCO, CIBTAC, IHBC, BTEC, CITY AND GUILDS, NVQ'S, ITEC or IA. For applicants applying outside Europe, an International equivalent will be accepted. Note that a qualification in FACIAL and BODY ELECTRICS is essential.

* Hair Stylist / Hairdresser - extensive beauty salon experience required. Must have completed a three year hairdressing apprenticeship or full time training course at a certified college. In addition, applicants must be fully qualified in both ladies and men's hairdressing. It is also important that hairdressers can cope with both a busy column and a demanding clientele. Fluent English Language skills required. Salary range: $2200-2900 U.S. per month, depending on gratuities and cruise line. Possibilities for promotion to Assistant Salon Manager.

* Massage Therapist - extensive experience required. Must be qualified in Swedish Massage. Any additional qualifications like Aromatherapy, Shiatsu, Reflexology, Reiki Healing or Sports Therapy is a definite plus. Good English Language skills required. Salary range: $2600-3600 U.S. per month, depending on gratuities and cruise line.

* Cosmetologist - extensive beauty salon experience required. Fluent English Language skills required. Salary range: $2100-2900 U.S. per month, depending on gratuities and cruise line.

* Nail Technician - required to have completed a Nail Technician training course and have at least one year's full time salon experience. Fluent English Language skills required. Salary range: $2200-2800 U.S. per month, depending on gratuities and cruise line.

* Aerobic & Fitness Instructor - must have an RSA or YMCA Exercise to Music, or an aerobic qualification, a Step certificate, Resistance Weights, e.g.. BAWLA or NABBA or an international equivalent. At least three months experience in teaching is required. Instructors are required to take a variety of aerobic classes, supervise the gymnasium and also offer Personal Training to guests. Fluent English Language skills required. Salary range: $1800-2200 U.S. per month, depending the cruise line. And this doesn't include the tips.

* Alternative Instructor - a limited number of positions are available for Yoga and Tai Chi instructors.

Smelling Your Food Might Kill You!

I came across this when I was researching for more information to put on my website top weight loss site and thought it was very interesting.

You have probably heard that people that ate less throughout their life time usually had a longer life and that is what scientist are trying to prove. But the research I came across was smelling your foods might sorten your lifespan.

I thought to myself is this possible?

They did a test on flies on ones that ate a normal diet while increasing the food smell in their atmosphere and the other group of flies ate a normal diet with no food smell in their atmosphere. The outcome was the flies that had no food smell had a life increase of 25 to 50%.

Not only that but the flies with no food smell were able to eat less, did not get hungry as often, and showed more energy.

They did the same test with mice and cats and the results were the same as the flies. Smell triggers all sorts of functions in our body that affect us in so many ways that we have to take them one at a time.

What does this means for us that want to achieve weight loss and improve our diets towards eating healthier, don't be surrounded with the food smell.

This has not been proven but have you noticed that you mostly get hungry when you feel food. My I go to a fair or the park I don't get hungry in tell I smell food as it triggers my body to feel hungry.

This was a very interesting question so I thought I would research on this topic a little and learned some very interesting things.

Gum while it may stay in your stomach for a longer time does not affect your appetite as many people thought it would if you swallowed a large amount. It could lead to problems with your digestive system though as it will slow it down and can lead to malnutrition.

Fitness Gyms Taking Over

Right now I am going to school in San Dimas California and working at LA Fitness but it hit me the other day at it is incredible to see how may fitness gyms, private studios, swim and racquet clubs there are in a small area.

It is astonishing!

Which one is the best and why are there so many?

The top three gyms I have worked at that I believe offer a lot to their members is LA Fitness, Bally Total Fitness, Curves for women, and Cuts for men.

All these gyms offer so much to their members for a decent price but let me break it down to you why they are the best.

LA Fitness

LA Fitness as successful as it is gives their members a large variety of cardio and lifting choices that keep the workouts enjoyable as possible. Most of them even have pools , basketball, and recquet courts.

And might I add that they have the most frequent update machines and equipment for their members. LA Fitness can help anyone achieve better health, weight loss, and improving their fitness level as they have some excellent gyms.

Bally Total Fitness

The fitness clubs I have been to are as I would like to say higher class with their professionalism, wide variety of workout and fitness options, and the people that work their.

The one that is closest to me is very nice and professional with the employees being very knowledgable and kind. They have some of the nicest and maintained equipment with a huge variety of thing to use to create a healthy body.

If you want a gym that is very professional, maintained, and higher classed than this is the gym for you.

Curves & Cuts

I use to hate curves and cuts as in takes people so far and leaves people hitting a slump. That was in tell I worked their.

Curves and cuts is great as one of the biggests problem today is people do not have the time to exercise but there it will only take 20 to 30 minutes than your done.

I noticed a lot of people did it in groups so they kept going with their friends continually as they talk, exercise, and have fun. It is absolutely a blast for some people.

I support curves and cuts now that I have seen what it does for people and getting them to exercise.

Finding Motivation For Weight Loss

Motivation for achieving weight loss is by far the first step that needs to be taken to make sure you won't fail and give up. Finding a drive and reason for you wanting to succeed is what needs to be done before nutrition, exercise, etc.

Being able to off back the your reasons and goals you listed out before is the best way to stay strong and keep going towards a healthier body.

So how can you create this motivation?

What must you do:

Most people begin with motivation but it usually fails soon later when things get a little hard. Seeing a hypnosis could help you figure out these issues and help you find a medium on what you would like to achieve and how dedicated you are.

Accepting your body type and who you are is another tips to help you not get stressed out when things do not go your way. Your body may not be built like some of the super models you see on tv but why would you want to be that skinny anyway?

Another thing is to focus on the positives to not get yourself down when things go bad. There will always be those bumps and stall in your health and fitness journey but stay positive and things will workout for the best.

Setting goals is what I believe to be the bread and butter of completely your health and weight loss goals. Small and big goals need to be made to shoot for something that will give people more motivation.

  • write down your goals

  • set easy goals often so you create a habit of success in the mind

  • set measurable goals - I will lose 1 pound each week. This gives you something to go for

  • tell friends and family about your goals for motivational support

  • make any routine fun and exciting to help maintain interest

  • try new challenging goals to stop your normal routine from becoming a chore

  • reward your success on reaching a goal

  • think positively, replace thoughts like "I can't" with "I can and I will"

  • don't set goals that are too much too soon

Healthy Eating Causing Boating

I use to have problems with this when I started eatin healthy and wanted to achieve weight loss. Boating and gas can be really annoying but it is part of how our bodies function. So how do we avoid it as much as possible?

Work on these things to avoid boating:

  • Swallowing air during meals. Eating too fast can cause air to be swallowed and this air can cause gasing, boating, burping, and even hiccups.
  • Certain foods cause boating and gas. Make sure you watch what kinds of foods you eat and the amount as foods like broccoli, eggs, etc.
  • Constipation. Boating is often the result of this function and you will need to try to increase your fiber and water in take.
  • Nutritional supplements. Things so-called healthy solutions can cause boating and gasing as side effects.
  • Chewing gum. I know this sounds dumb but believe me if you chew with your mouth open than you swallow a lot of air.

My Experience With Spiritual Health and Fitness

I love everything about health, fitness, weight loss, etc. you name it, I love it! Finding a purpose for loving health so much was always something of interest to me. Why did I have such a passion?

It was God's plan.

I know my interest in healthy living was laid before by God as everything I do in this area flurishes like nothing else.

Teaching, business, gambling just does not sound that interesting to me but health and fitness is something that I will never get tired of learning and doing.

Fasting An Obsession For Weight Loss

Why is it that people feel like in order to achieve weight loss they must fast. It is a terrible and misleading myth that will hurt the body more than help it.

It’s almost a shame so much need be said on fasting for health. Enemas, juice machines, colon cleansers, detoxification—for most this will be helpful information and a comfort, but for a few, overabundant knowledge will increase anxiety.

Fasting may drop you a couple pound really quit but mark my words, those pounds will come back leaving you with even more fat and less lean muscle.

Running On The Beach

I just had to tell you what I think is the best type of exercise for weight loss and healthy living. I was at the beach yesterday and started running and what hit me when I was done was I ran 10 miles without really noticing how far I went.

It was awesome!

You have to try this as I have just had the best run in my whole life as God had just shown me this beautiful earth without all the death and hurt in it.

Overeating Hurting Our Health & Weight Loss

Why is it from time to time we over do it on the foods we love. We know we are trying to achieve weight loss but the foods we love are too tempting. What can we do about it?

I have had days where I only ate around 2000 calories instead of 3500 calories like I usually do and feel great. By maintaining a healthy body, exercise frequently, and calming down your life to release the stress is the solution.

So many people are being mention to having eating disorders but what the real problem is that their stress or in an emotional state.

Metabolism Tricks To Fire It Up

Cycle Your Calories Daily
Stick to a certain number of calories religiously and your metabolism eventually adapts to that and learns to function more efficiently burning less calories than when you first adjusted your calorie intake. The smart way to keep your metabolism on fire is to cycle calories on a daily basis for weight loss and fat burning. Choose your ideal calorie intake and stick to it three days a week. Two days a week when you’re less active go 200 calories under your ideal intake. Two days when you’re more active go 200 calories over you ideal intake. This keeps your metabolism from slowing down and prevents those dreaded plateaus.

Cycle Your Carbs
Another great strategy is to be smart about your carb intake. Cutting carbs is a common weight loss practice these days and that’s fine, as long as you’re providing the adequate number of carbs on days when you’re more active. You can go as low as 50g a day on days when you don’t exercise and as high as 200g a day on days when you’re more active. The trick is to eliminate all simple sugars (sodas, cookies, candies, and low-fat processed foods that are high sugar) and stick to healthier carbs especially on days when you’re going low. Good choices include all types of vegetables, high fiber grains, and low glycemic fruit.

The 400 Calorie Rule
Have you ever come across those people who only eat one meal a day but are seriously overweight? Maybe you do this and you have no idea why you can’t lose weight. The main reason is you’re body can only process around 400 calories at a time. Any excess calories typically get stored as fat, which is the main reason that 5-6 mini meals a day is much better for weightloss and fat loss. Try this simple trick to get started; take two of your typical meals and divide them into six smaller containers, set up an eating schedule that fits into your lifestyle and just try it for a couple of days. You may feel awkward doing this at first, maybe even a little queasy, but within two days your energy levels will be way up and your cravings will be way down. Example meal schedule:

Meal 1 7am
Meal 2 10am
Meal 3 1pm
Meal 4 4pm
Meal 5 7pm

Don’t Forget Your Water
According to Jay Williams, PhD, author of The 24 Hour Turnaround, “mild dehydration will slow down your metabolism by as much as 3 percent”. She explains that when the kidneys, which flush out waste, don’t have enough water they begin to rely on the liver which works primarily to provide stored fat for energy. If the liver is busy doing the kidney’s job then it metabolizes less fat and this results in less weightloss. Drinking plenty of water also ensures that you don’t retain water weight especially during that time of the month. Try to drink at least 64oz a day and closer to a gallon if you’re very active.
